Life - It's One Big Bucket List

bucketlist.jpg

Perhaps it’s just because I’ve spent years of my life now being in the midst of a perpetually chaotic schedule. Or maybe it’s because - as much as I hate to admit it - I thrive on being busy and with having things to do. If there’s anything I’ve learned since graduation, it’s that I don’t have much of an art in taking advantage of free time.

Now, don’t get me wrong - while I’m certainly someone who loves having a lazy day or two on the couch every once in awhile, an empty schedule is far from relaxing to me.

That being said, lately I’ve found a new hobby in researching things to do for the many trips I’m hoping to go on this year. And while many of those trips are still in the process of being finalized, I’ve also been adding a good amount of items to the already lengthy bucket list I’ve been in the process of creating for a couple years now. A bucket list which has genuinely been giving me a lot to look forward to in the remaining years ahead.

It’s also a list that will hopefully soon become one of my many favorite hobbies as I’m given the time to check off individual items now more than ever before.

As I’ve compiled my own bucket list over the years, I know that some of the items on it are outlandish dreams, some of which I’ll probably never do (standing atop Mount Everest’s East Base Camp?), yet they’re dreams that would make my life just that much more interesting and meaningful if only I take the time to cross them off. And whether those experiences are in my own backyard or in an entirely different country altogether, they’re moments in life I’d hopefully never forget.

Because - truly - life is shorter than you think.

So attached you’ll find my own bucket list, some of which you’ll find has already been completed. I hope you use it to add to your own if you already have one or that you use it to help you start one altogether. Being one of my New Year’s resolutions, this year I’ll be methodically crossing off items and posting about my experiences with each.

I hope you’ll keep me accountable.Better yet, I hope you take the time to cross off items on your own bucket lists.Life’s too short to ask, “what if?”

Turn that “what if” into, “What am I going to cross off next?"
